at the beach... sort of

Before all that get-up-at-3-am-and-drive-to-your-death stuff went down on Sunday, we had to
get ourselves wicked tired on Saturday, of course.

So we bought a kayak, threw it on the roof rack with Mom's kayak, packed up the kid and some lemonade and headed to the Marina. Luckily, it was the windiest day ever - perfect for paddling around (without spray skirts). But Grant had a great time, we like our boats, and we even made some new friends.

3 am thoughts

Tim and I (and Grant) had another sunrise adventure today. It hurt real bad. At 3 am when the alarm went off until 3:30 there were only moans to be heard from our apartment. I remember saying, "my blood hurts"...and I meant it. We left soon after 3:30 and headed toward Bassets for a good view of the Sierra Buttes. I'm still sorting out the good catches but here's one so you can get the idea.
Waking up at 3 like that I immediately thought "I don't want another baby" and then "oh crap, poor Amy, Kelly, and Jessica". I prayed they were still alive. And with that I think I should add the new babies to the post and give a little credit to three of my best friends who feed them all night long.

My new Niece, Reese, born to Kelly and Dallas, their second! May 23rd.

Ryan born to Jess and Paco, June 3rd.

Noah, born to Amy and Scott, their second! June 14th.

3 am hurts...but thinking back on my times with Grant in the middle of the night, (these girls I'm sure would agree) and some of the good pictures and laughs I've had with Tim, it's kind of a good time....kind of.

mt. judah

Well we haven't had much news lately...or maybe we just don't feel like writing about it. I feel like I come up with things to say and then by the time I get around to it the passion has left me. The most recent good news is we went for a hike Wednesday afternoon/evening on Mt. Judah and found where we want to backpack later. Look at that perfect range hiding back there. We're hoping to do a few days on this section of the PCT in August maybe for our anniversary. I like this picture. Special thanks to my buff husband who always carries the wiggly 30lb.- pack.

eggs blow

I don't really remember how we got here.

I remember I was starving and yelling. We were both in the kitchen looking for any ingredients that might go together and then someone suggested we put an egg in the microwave. The other promptly accepted the idea. After a minute when nothing happened I started to lose interest but then it came through. When an egg blows up it's pretty loud. And now we know if you time it just right you can get a quick hard boiled egg...but you have to time it just right!

not enough pictures

Oh Crap, I'm tired! But the lemonade stand went well!! Thanks to all my volunteer sign wavers and lemonade pourers from Coram Deo. We were in the Reno Gazette and on News 2 but I was bummed because the news station didn't put up the online giving site. That's the only reason I wanted them there! And I didn't take enough pictures. But it looks like we raised about $1500 for cancer. The lemonade stand itself scored almost a thousand in cash-o-la.

I can look back and wish some things turned out differently but I'm going to try not to. I'm going to try to remember the ladies who came to buy lemonade that were battling cancer themselves and the people who stopped by just to hand us money and not take any lemonade at all. We had a pretty good time too! And it was fun to remember Alex throughout the day as we told people what we were doing. There were a lot of good people out there today!

If you haven't given yet and would like to. Donate Here.

coming soon

Well the the Alex's Lemonade stand in Reno has banners, lemonade, lemons, and a stand. Not just "have" like they will be donated, "have" like have. My supporters out there can come by Butcher Boy from 9-3 this Saturday or pray that we have a smooth, fun time. I feel like I'm back at Master's planning Student Body activities. I guess college has come in handy!

so i'm not crazy

Every time we see something about Spiderman I think, "oh yeah that guy from the 70's show!" I feel like Topher Grace and Toby Mcguire look quite similar but, when I say I get them mixed up, Tim doesn't seem to understand. I thought I must be the only one this confusion happeneds to until Letterman validated me a few nights ago. You can see it HERE.
