Grant can now request breakfast. This morning his first words were, "cookies, cake, fries?" And it was a sentence just like that.

His other favorite sentences include:

"mow, mow, puppy"
"okay okay okay potty cookie?"
"mow, mow, mow, mow mow?"

The last one is requesting that I put in Aristocats.

new-ish look

I was doing some work for another blog and some etsy stores online and I figured I should probably pay a little more attention to my own...the design business has really been cookin' over here but it's cool. For the most part I love it and I always appreciate extra money in the budget...or filling in the deficits. Hope you like the new-ish look!

all inclusive

When I started rock climbing some of it's draw was the fact that not everyone knew how to do it. It's technical and a bit risky - it was almost like I was in an exclusive club. Now, quite a few years later I realized my views on climbing have changed. The way I climb is very inclusive. I take out new friends, old friends, whoever really. I've taught a lot of people how to climb and belay now. I even took my mother!! Way to go mom! She and Susan did a fabulous job a few weeks ago. She made it to the top of a few climbs and learned to belay! The last picture is my new belay buddy Lauren from Coram Deo. She's the hard core manicurist! We go once a week and invite others too. It's great to have an excuse to get out of the house, be with other gals, exercise, and get better at climbing. I finished a 5.11 last night. Oh yeah.

alex results

We had a great time with the lemonade stand this year! Sometimes we had so many volunteers I didn't know what to do! We didn't reach our goal of $3,000. We made half in fact, but last year we didn't reach half our goal so we're getting better at trying to guess how much our work will produce, if you can believe it. Next year I don't want to make a goal. You really never know who is going to help, who is going to stop by, who won't drive to your stand because gas is $4.00 a gallon, etc. We met some great people, made it on the news and the Reno Gazette too those were also goals this year. A big thanks to all who prayed and helped and gave!

I also want to give a shout out for A&W. They gave us our cups this year along with putting up mini stands at their cash register. The reno stores are owned by a great Christian couple so stop by if you're hungry and support them! The chicken strips are dang good!!

Well our Alex's Lemonade Stand in Reno is open tonight at 5 until 8 and tomorrow at 11 to 3pm at Butcher Boy off South Virginia. I'm excited that it's finally here! No more planning just passing out lemonade and taking money and hanging out. I usually stress about things like this right before they happen but I'm trying not too. Last time I didn't know how it was going to work and it did - so the same should happen today. And there are so many great volunteers from my family at Coram Deo that always help me out of a jam.

If you've been meaning to give and you still haven't - do it now! Or else I'd appreciate your prayers or if you stopped by and said hi! I'll post some pictures Sunday hopefully.

The interior design has officially begun. We painted the kitchen green - lemon grass to be exact - and slime to be realistic, until Tim messed with the color to create a little darker shade. It's still not really done but we have something up and it's fun! We have a cute tape of Grant the painter. So kids do EVERYTHING you do don't they.
